I really want to finish my aunty’s bag this week so I can complete my One Thing, One Week challenge… so of course this afternoon I made myself a drawstring backpack to take to the beach. It took me about four times as long to make as it ought to have because I changed my mind about which side I wanted to be open, and then I had to rip out a side of reinforced stitches. Fortunately, it was the selvedge side, so I hadn’t done a French seam. >_<

It’s about 23″ x 18″; hopefully that’ll be big enough to cram in a beach towel and other stuff. Otherwise, I just may have to buy myself a pool robe pattern so that Cosmo’s towel is smaller! I made the straps from strips of a toddler t-shirt that I bought from Goodwill a while ago — I meant to make a mooshy bunny from it, but never did. I wanted to make the straps replaceable, but don’t have any grommet-making stuff in the house, so made lazy little buttonholes. They’re different sizes!
