I finished my eating out kit for Pings and Needles’ Japanese Scrap Bag Challenge. Hurray!

After going through two prototypes, I finally landed on this triangle prism shaped containeroo with a button closure.

I forgot to take process pictures (doh!), but I made 56 hexies, sewed them into a rectangle-ish configuration, sewed the hexies and lining together, and then chopped up the three sides. Then I hand-sewed the end bits to the sides, and finally hand-sewed the sides to the bottom.

I embroidered a fork, knife, and spoon on the sides and I made the button. I meant to have chopsticks on there, too, but when I sewed together my hexies, I flipped something and ended up with only three blank ones instead of four. Whoops!

I’m going to give this to my mom — she and my dad have been having the kids and me over for dinner all this week while Mr. Yazoo is on second shift! I’m so lucky. 🙂 Now I just have to make something for my dad…

Thanks, Sarah, for hosting this fun challenge!
